Crieff Perthshire, Printed for Private Circulation By David Philips. 1902, 1st Edition. White Cloth Boards, Square 8vo. x+125p frontispiece portrait and index. aeg. Privately prodiced biography to this worthy of Crieff. He trained at Sandhurst for the army and became Colonel of the Perthshire Voliunteers but later resigned his commission and took up his estate; agricultuiral improvements, racing and hunting and his work on the Crieff to Comrire Railway (of which he was a prime mover) are described. Also a Riot in Comrie at a polling station in 1868, where it sounds as if he had to take flight. Much of interest about Crieff and Lawers. Generaly good with Carnegie (? Private) library Clashmore bookplate on front pastedown. One leaf loose and tipped in. Boards have a few stains and marks - but a rare book. Good +/No Jacket.

The history of Dunkeld, from pre-history but in particluar its religious history from early Christian Missionaries through the destruction of Dunkeld Cathedral to the restoration & into modern times. Gavin Douglas, the poet bishop of Dunkeld is discussed. A brief history of Birnam and Inver is given. Neat dated name- (E.M.Dalziel Trochry 1927) on fep wich is a little browned. Internally tight but a few light fingermarks. Externaly boards dulled with some snagging about spine. At least an excellent reading copy. Good/No Jacket.
