London, Country Life. 1923, 1st Edition (as such). Half-Leather, Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. Four short articles from Country Life and "The Architectuarl Review 1923-1925 includes "The Veil of the Admiralty" "The Admiraly Building Whitehall I & II. With associated newspaperr cuttings, illustatred admiralty gretings/christam cards reproducing engravings and a 1923 2p typewritten adiscourse on the Grinling Gibbons carving on either side of the Admiralty Board Room Mantel-Piece. Clearly bound for the Admiralty House library with stamps. Half leather folio with filing number on front board. Some fingermarks, well thumbed and one gutter split but remains tight; edges worn. Edinburgh, R.Grant & Son. 1902, 12th Issue. Gilt Titled Red Boards, Thick 8vo. Publishers red cloth with gilt crest to front. xxxi + 1056p.+ xxxiv. Major reference source "The XXth Century Edition Respectfully inscribed to E.P.W. Redford Esq. Secretary to the Post Office for Scotland". Book is complete with many period adverts and unusually is accompanied by the map which was issued in a separate folder. The Directory has evidence of some internal glueing repair to the spine; but internally clean and tight. Pebbled blind stamped and gilt boards show even handling use and letters A.W.R. neatly written at base of spine. The map is in original red canvas covers and is mounted on cloth. Some eviidence of usage and sometwo narrow selloatp[e marks along an edge where it may once have been mounted. See scans ans email for further pictures. Heavy - may require a postal supplement. Near Very Good.

From James I to his son Prince Charles. No author is stated to the work or to Copac, but a prior owner has attributed authorship and publication toantiquary Sir Thomas Phillipps. With numerousblank pages bound to the rear for notation, clean. Condition: In a half morocco binding with cloth covered boards. Externally, very smart with small patches of light rubbing to the extremities as well as to the head and tail of spine. Further light rubbing to the joints. Prior owner's notations to he front pastedown and to the rear pastedown. Bookseller's label to the rear pastedown, 'Herladry Today'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean throughout. Overall: VERY GOOD INDEED. VERY GOOD INDEED.
